An outdoor picnic area is available and can comfortable accommodate 30 students.  Remember your visit with a special purchase from our gift shop, with many items affordably priced under $5.

Outdoor Discovery Center, Cornwall, NY

Our Field Study programs take place at this 177 acre site.  More than 5 miles of well-marked trails feature a wide variety of habitats.  Programs begin at the Visitors Center before heading outdoors to explore our region’s natural resources.  After your program, enjoy a picnic lunch and explore the trails.  Free scavenger hunts available upon request!  Three picnic areas are available, one of which has a covered pavilion.  Let us know if you would like to visit our gift shop with many nature themed souvenirs affordably priced with students in mind.

Kowawese Unique Area, Plum Point, New Windsor, NY

River Study programs are held at this beautiful Orange County Park just off of Rt. 9W.  This park has spectacular views of Storm King Mountain and Bannerman’s Island. It is common to view boats traveling up and down the river, and to occasionally observe Bald Eagles!  When your program has concluded, enjoy a picnic lunch on the beach or in the shaded picnic grove of the park.
