Young Naturalist Preschool PROGRAM AT WARWICK


Knee-High Naturalist Warwick: Fall 2024

The Knee-High Naturalist program is excited to welcome 2*-4 year olds with an adult to learn all about nature! Each class, toddlers and their grown-up learn about an animal or ecology topic by singing songs, reading a book, making a craft, and/or going on a short outdoor adventure, and sometimes we even get to meet a live animal! This special program helps to nurture love and respect for our Environment, teaches about the animals and plants of the Hudson Valley in a fun and hands-on way, and is also a great way to prepare for preschool! This is not a drop-off program. Masks are optional.

  • *Children MUST be 2 years of age (no exceptions) to enroll.

  • Kindly make other arrangements for siblings over 9 months. This is a special time for care-givers and toddlers.

  • 10 children per session. Online pre-registration is REQUIRED - see below

5% sibling discount - each child requires their own registration. Please note: The 5% sibling discount is applied only to the second registration.

  • Refund Policy: Cancellations due to any other issues will require notice at least ONE WEEK before the student will stop attending. Short notice cancellations will affect the amount we are able to refund. A Pro-rated refund will be issued for 70% of the unused balance to cover administrative and credit card fees. Cancellations due to behavioral issues will not be given a refund.

  • Please note: Make-up classes will be offered if possible. No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather if the program runs as scheduled. 


Summer Nature Play Days

Calling all young nature explorers ages 3 & 4…Get ready for a morning of outdoor fun with Nature Play Days at Mountain Lake Park! This exciting drop off program is specially designed for our smallest nature lovers, where every moment is filled with wonder and discovery. Led by our caring and experienced nature educators, your little ones will embark on nature hikes, explore the forest, and engage in nature-based crafts and games. From finding treasures in the woods to making art with natural materials, there’s so much to experience! 

What your child will need to bring! 

  • Snack, water bottle, lunch, weather appropriate attire.

Stroller Naturalist:Warwick

Stroller Naturalist is a special weekly walking group held by the Hudson Highlands Nature Museum at Mountain Lake Park in the town of Warwick for families with babies, toddlers, and young children. Led by a Nature Educator, these unique one-hour strolls will follow gentle stroller-friendly trails as you explore the lake, lakeside paths, grassfields, and the forest edge together, and enjoy a fun and hands-on nature lesson! Strollers will not be provided.

Just because it’s cold outside, doesn’t mean the nature fun stops! At this FREE family event for the community, join Nature Educators to meet live animals up-close, learn about local wildlife, and enjoy hands-on nature crafts & activities! Plus, learn about all the wonderful HHNM programs coming to Warwick in 2024! No pre registration is required.

 
 

Spring Break Mini Camp for ages 6-9

HHNC Mini Campers will have lots of fun while school is out! They’ll spend time exploring and playing outdoors learning all about the world around them! They’ll also enjoy plenty of time playing games, doing hands-on activities & crafts, and going on adventures! Check out the daily themes below!

  • Please dress children for the weather as this program spends time outdoors

  • Bringing a change of clothes is recommended

  • Campers must bring a packed lunch, and reusable water bottles are preferred

  • Masks are optional
