Step into the wonder of early fall with a family-friendly hike through our woods guided by a Nature Educator. Discover the beauty and variety of autumn leaves up close as we explore the trails together. After our woodland wander, we’ll head back to turn your favorite leaves into a one-of-a-kind painted leaf collage to take home.

Wildlife Education Campus (25 Boulevard, Conrwall-on-Hudson)

All womxn are invited to join us for a special paint & sip like no other! We’ll be accompanied by Dr. Laura Jaworksi (@docsveterinarywildlife), a veterinarian, state and federally licensed wildlife rehabilitator, and general falconer and her team of Raptors. While you sip on a refreshing glass of wine, an educator will lead you through the basics of watercolor painting. Watercolor painting materials will be supplied, please feel free to bring your own painting medium if desired. No previous art experience is necessary!

This event is open to the public. Registration is required.

Stroller Naturalist is a special walking group at the Nature Center’s Outdoor Discovery Center for families with babies, toddlers, and young children. Led by a Nature Educator, these unique one-hour strolls will follow gentle stroller-friendly trails as you explore the fields, ponds & forest together, and enjoy a fun and hands-on nature lesson!

Strollers will not be provided!

Did you know that the skin of an onion can potentially predict how cold our winters will be? How about the change in behavior of our local honeybees and squirrels? Many aspects of our natural world give us subtle clues about what wintery conditions are to come. Join an HHNC Educator to verify or debunk common natural winter indicators. This program is offered to Acorn Members only!

Bid summer farewell with a night under the stars! After dinner, bring your family, your tent and sleeping bags for an evening of nocturnal fun. Begin your overnight adventure by setting up your campsite with the help of camping veterans. Then join Nature Educators to go stargazing, make s’mores around the campfire, and (for those interested) go for a short night walk and call for owls! Light breakfast snack and coffee will be provided on Saturday morning as you break down your campsite.
We have indoor bathrooms on-site. Don’t forget your tent with a rain-fly (for rain/dew), sleeping bag & (camping) pillow!

**When purchasing a ticket, you will also be reserving a half hour window during which you will have approx 5 minutes to enter and enjoy the Butterfly Tent - offered at 10:00am, 10:30am, 11:00am, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2:00pm or 2:30pm
-Monarch Tag & Release 12:00 and 3:00pm
Admission: HHNC Members: $12 per person ages 3 and up
Not- yet-Members: $14 per person ages 3 and up
Children 2 and under are free
**Pre-registration is required to guarantee your space(s) in the Butterfly Tent. Walk-ins are welcome if space allows. Pre-registration closes on Friday 9/8 at 3pm.**

Flutter in & join Nature Educators to discover the beauty and incredibly unique qualities of butterflies, moths and caterpillars! Observe Nature Educators release Monarchs at 12pm and 3pm. Children and adults alike will get a thrill getting “up close and personal” with butterflies in the Butterfly Tent (one ticket is included with each paid admission). With you ticket you will also register for a ½ hour window during which you will have several minutes to enter and enjoy the Butterfly Tent, meet them up close and try to hand feed them! Grasshopper Grove will also be open for Nature Play!

(PLEASE NOTE: you may only enter the Butterfly Tent during a portion of your selected time slot) offered at 10am, 10:30am, 11am, 1pm, 1:30pm, 2pm and 2:30pm.)
