Meteorological Winter begins on December 1st so come and celebrate with Educators & Animal Ambassadors with an exciting weekend of family fun! We will have a guided hike on Friday, Going on a bear hunt activities on Saturday, and exciting Squirrel activities on Sunday!
It’s also an excellent time to start your Holiday shopping in our Nature Shop with gifts for all ages, including science kits, books, toys, locally made-items and more, find the perfect presents all while supporting the programs and Animals of HHNC! This weekend only, enjoy a free gift with every in-person purchase of any level of Animal Sponsorship, PLUS, take advantage of the special Holiday Membership Sale! Animal sponsorships and Gift Memberships make uniquely wonderful Holiday gifts!
Weekend Schedule:
Friday: Indigenous HIstory Guided Hike** with Kay and Adam at 1pm. Meet the Animal presentations at 1pm & 2:30pm. **Please note, the walk is not stroller friendly and contains rocky terrain. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear appropriate footwear for a hike.
Saturday: Let’s go on a bear hunt!! Join us for a day of fun bear activities. Learn about bears through engaging STEM activities, a craft, storytime, and songs! Fun for all ages! Storytime with a song will take place at 1:30 PM and 3:00 PM. Meet the Animal presentations at 1pm & 2:30pm.
Sunday: Let’s get nutty with squirrels! Join us from 10-11:30am for fun activities and crafts as we learn about our friendly neighborhood squirrels and how they prepare themselves for the cold months of winter! Meet Ophelia our resident Fox Squirrel up close. Learn all about our furry lil’ friends, followed by making paper bag squirrels. Then we’ll go out to collect acorns and nuts with our bags, and play a game of squirrelly freeze dance! "Meet the Animal" presentations at 1pm & 2:30pm.
